About the position

The Sales Manager at The Westin New York at Times Square is a pivotal role responsible for guiding customers through their event experiences, ensuring that their goals and objectives are met to create compelling events. This position requires a proactive and consultative sales approach, utilizing Encore's established sales processes and methodologies to secure business and maximize revenue capture from an assigned customer base. The Sales Manager will work closely with hotel personnel to enhance business relationships and support company initiatives, business strategies, and core values. In this role, the Sales Manager will be tasked with revenue generation by soliciting and securing business through effective communication and relationship management. This includes preparing and presenting quotes and proposals in a timely manner, collaborating with vendors and other departments to service events, and attending site visits and pre-conference planning meetings. A strong understanding of event cost structures is essential, as the Sales Manager will need to incorporate profitability guidelines into solution designs. The position also emphasizes the importance of delivering world-class service by cultivating relationships with customers and venue personnel. The Sales Manager will be expected to thoroughly research customer history to create personalized experiences and ensure that all customer information is accurately maintained in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Maintaining a healthy sales pipeline and supporting sales forecasting efforts are also key responsibilities, along with staying updated on new product offerings and emerging technologies in the events industry.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 1+ years of Encore or equivalent experience required.
  • 1 year of technology sales or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Prior sales experience in audiovisual is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the hospitality industry and sales processes preferred.
  • Technical aptitude and computer proficiency required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
