About the position

The Sales Manager, Venues is a pivotal role responsible for guiding customers through their event experiences, ensuring that their goals and objectives are met to create compelling events. This position requires a proactive approach to sales, utilizing Encore's established sales processes and methodologies to secure business and maximize revenue capture from an assigned customer base. The Sales Manager will cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key hotel personnel, enhancing the overall business relationship and supporting company initiatives, business strategies, and core values. In this role, the Sales Manager will be tasked with preparing and presenting quotes and proposals in a timely manner, collaborating effectively with vendors and other departments to service events. Attendance at site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and venue meetings is essential to support the customer event experience. A thorough understanding of the event cost structure is necessary to incorporate profitability guidelines into solution designs. The Sales Manager will also be responsible for delivering world-class service by understanding customer history and previous experiences, which will help in creating personalized customer experiences. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer information in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system is crucial. The role requires actively referring and guiding customers through the Encore network to secure additional opportunities. Sales accountability is a key aspect of this position, with the expectation to maintain a healthy pipeline that ensures the achievement of established revenue targets. The Sales Manager will support sales forecasting efforts and must stay informed about new product and service offerings, as well as emerging technologies that support meetings and events.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit and secure business through a proactive, consultative sales approach.
  • Prepare and present quotes and proposals in a timely manner to customers.
  • Collaborate with vendors and other departments to capture and service events.
  • Attend site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and venue meetings as necessary.
  • Understand event cost structure and incorporate it into solution designs according to profitability guidelines.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with customers and venue personnel.
  • Research and understand customer history to create personalized experiences.
  • Ensure all customer information is accurate in the CRM system.
  • Refer and guide customers through the Encore network for additional opportunities.
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline to achieve revenue targets.
  • Support sales forecasting efforts and ensure accuracy.
  • Learn and adopt all SOPs related to the role and new initiatives.
  • Maintain knowledge of new product/service offerings and emerging technology.

Requirements

  • BS/BA or 1+ years of Encore or equivalent experience required.
  • 1 year technology sales or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Prior sales experience in audiovisual is a plus.
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry and sales processes preferred.
  • Technical aptitude and computer proficiency required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
