About the position

The Sales Manager, Venues is a pivotal role responsible for guiding customers through their event experiences, ensuring that their goals and objectives are met to create compelling events. This position requires a proactive approach to sales, utilizing Encore's established sales processes and methodologies to secure business effectively. The Sales Manager will leverage all available tools to maximize event and revenue capture from their assigned customer base, while also cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with key hotel personnel to enhance overall business relationships. The role supports company initiatives, business strategies, and core values, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and objectives. In this role, the Sales Manager will be tasked with driving results by soliciting and securing business through a consultative sales approach. This includes preparing and presenting quotes and proposals in a timely manner, collaborating with vendors and other departments to service events, and attending site visits and planning meetings to support customer experiences. A thorough understanding of the event cost structure is essential, as the Sales Manager will need to incorporate this knowledge into solution designs while adhering to established profitability guidelines. Relationship management is a key component of this position. The Sales Manager will deliver world-class service by cultivating relationships with customers and venue personnel, ensuring that customer history and previous experiences are well understood to create personalized experiences. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer information in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system is crucial, as is actively referring customers through the Encore network to secure additional opportunities. Sales accountability is another critical aspect of the role. The Sales Manager must maintain a healthy pipeline to achieve established revenue targets, ensuring that all opportunities are accurately recorded in the CRM. Supporting sales forecasting efforts and staying informed about new product and service offerings, as well as emerging technologies in the meetings and events space, are also essential responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Drive results by soliciting and securing business through a proactive, consultative sales approach.
  • Prepare and present quotes and proposals in a timely manner to customers.
  • Collaborate with vendors and other departments to capture and service events.
  • Attend site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and appropriate venue meetings as necessary.
  • Understand event cost structure and incorporate this into solution designs according to established profitability guidelines.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with customers and venue personnel.
  • Research and understand customer history to create personalized experiences.
  • Ensure all customer information is accurate in the CRM at all times.
  • Refer and guide customers through the Encore network to secure additional opportunities.
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline to achieve established revenue targets.
  • Ensure all known opportunities are in CRM and are accurate and updated.
  • Support sales forecasting efforts at home location, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
  • Learn and adopt all SOPs related to the role and new initiatives/programs.
  • Maintain knowledge of new product/service offerings and emerging technology.

Requirements

  • BS/BA or 1+ years of Encore or equivalent experience required.
  • 1 year technology sales or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Prior sales experience in audio, video, lighting equipment in an events environment is a huge plus.
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry and sales processes preferred.
  • Technical aptitude and computer proficiency required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
