About the position

As the Event Sales Manager at Dave & Buster's, you will be responsible for driving events revenue through a combination of consultative selling, outbound prospecting, and retaining the existing client base. This position requires a strategic thinker who can see the big picture in customer acquisition and retention. To excel in this role, you will need a proven track record of increasing sales, expertise in cold calling, strong client nurturing skills, and the ability to multitask effectively. Your success will be measured by your ability to close deals and maintain strong relationships with clients, earning you the nickname 'The Closer.' In this role, you will work on-site at the store location and report directly to the General Manager. You will be expected to exhibit superior prospecting, presentation, and closing skills, as well as demonstrate leadership in relationship selling and new business development. Understanding the importance of maintaining customer relationships to secure year-over-year business is crucial. You will develop sales campaigns focused on nurturing relationships with customers and driving repeat sales. Being goal-oriented, self-motivated, and self-directed will be key to your success. Your responsibilities will include performing outbound lead-generating activities outside the store, developing and executing a local and outbound sales strategy, building and managing a high-performing sales team, and serving as a product knowledge expert. You will manage the full cycle of the sales process, build and maintain a robust sales pipeline, and drive new revenue by closing new outbound business. Monitoring key performance metrics and adapting sales strategies as needed will also be part of your role. You will cultivate strong relationships with key decision-makers and utilize sales data to track communications and progress towards sales goals. Additionally, you will be involved in community engagement through board or committee positions and host networking events to build brand awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Drive events revenue through consultative selling and outbound prospecting.
  • Retain existing client base and develop new customer relationships.
  • Perform outbound lead generating activities outside the store, including tabling and networking events.
  • Develop and execute a local and outbound sales strategy targeting high-potential customer segments.
  • Build and manage a high-performing sales team, providing mentorship and training.
  • Serve as a product knowledge expert to overcome customer objections.
  • Manage the full cycle of the sales process from prospecting to closing.
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline to ensure consistent progress towards revenue targets.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and adapt sales strategies as needed.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key decision-makers at target companies.
  • Utilize sales data to track communications and progress towards sales goals.
  • Join and hold positions within community or professional organizations to enhance brand awareness.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations for Events Consultants and oversee developmental action plans.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related sales experience.
  • Outgoing and personable with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel within the community at least two work days per week.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for tradeshows or conferences.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Excel, Word, Microsoft Office, and CRM applications.
  • Flexible in approach and able to adapt to client requests.
  • High personal standards of conduct and professionalism.
  • Practical experience in a similar outbound sales position is advantageous.
  • Well-developed presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Goal and customer-oriented with the ability to relate to each customer's demands.
  • Experience with outbound prospecting and new business development.
