About the position

Terra Gaucha, a premier Brazilian Steakhouse known for its authentic Churrasco grilling method, is seeking an Event Sales Manager to join our team in Stamford, CT. This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $65,000 to $75,000 per year. The ideal candidate will be results-driven, persuasive, and possess strong negotiation and networking skills. As the Event Sales Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving sales and managing client relationships for events of 15 or more guests. Your primary responsibility will be to actively prospect targeted businesses, organizations, associations, and event planners to grow sales and ensure successful event execution. In this role, you will be responsible for reporting weekly bookings, monthly sales actions, and quarterly variances, as well as maintaining detailed records of all prospects, contacts, accounts, and booking information in Open Table. You will act as the primary contact for all group clients, ensuring that all event details are completed and that client retention is achieved. Collaborating with the General Manager, you will strategize to determine the appropriate yield for the restaurant space on each date and time, ensuring that events meet the minimum food and beverage guarantees. Your efforts will also include developing annual sales activity plans, conducting competitive analysis, and prospecting the largest 100 companies in the metro area. You will be expected to maintain a strong presence in social media channels, attend networking events, and participate in Chamber of Commerce events to establish relationships with local business owners. The goal is to achieve sales of at least $500,000 yearly, making this a pivotal role in our restaurant's growth and success.

Responsibilities

  • Grow sales through active prospecting of targeted businesses, organizations, associations, and event planners for groups of 15 or more.
  • Report weekly bookings, monthly sales actions results, quarterly variances or manual edits as necessary, and turndown-lost business reports as requested.
  • Enter all prospects, contacts, accounts and booking information in Open Table for booked parties greater than 15.
  • Act as primary contact for all group clients, ensuring completion of event details and retention.
  • Strategize with the General Manager to determine the appropriate yield for the space on each date and time.
  • Sell the event with a minimum food and beverage guarantee, ensuring the guest spends the appropriate amount to reach the yield required.
  • Work with the entire team to drive overall restaurant traffic.
  • Develop annual sales activity plans and competitive analysis workbook.
  • Prospect the largest 100 companies located in the metro area.
  • Visit hotels and concierges once every month.
  • Reach out to event planners and executive assistants over the phone, through email or search engines before visiting companies.
  • Attend all main networking events that are happening in the metro area.
  • Have a strong presence in social media channels that are business related.
  • Participate in Chamber of Commerce events once a month to establish relationships with local key people and business owners.
  • Manage client list.
  • Acquire knowledge of current market trends.
  • Acquire information about what other restaurants and retail businesses are doing to attract customers.
  • Prepare confirmation agreement for groups of above 15 guests and guests that require private room.

Requirements

  • 3 years of B2B sales experience.
  • 3 years of event sales experience.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Experience in restaurant sales or retail sales.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
