About the position

As the Event Sales Manager at Dave & Buster's, you will be responsible for driving events revenue through a combination of consultative selling, outbound prospecting, and retaining the existing client base. This position requires a strategic thinker who can see the big picture in customer acquisition and retention. To excel in this role, you will need a proven track record of increasing sales, expertise in cold calling, strong client nurturing skills, and the ability to multitask effectively. Your success will be driven by your determination to succeed, earning you the nickname 'The Closer.' This role will be based on-site at the store location and will report directly to the General Manager. To be an outstanding sales manager, you will need to exhibit superior prospecting, presentation, and closing skills. You should be skilled in leadership, relationship selling, and new business development. Understanding the importance of maintaining customer relationships to secure year-over-year business is crucial. You will develop a sales campaign focused on nurturing relationships with customers and driving repeat sales. Being goal-oriented, self-motivated, and self-directed is essential, as is the ability to present in front of large audiences. You will need to self-evaluate your sales pipeline to accurately predict forecasted events revenue and possess a 'closer' mentality with negotiation skills and a commitment to follow through. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with a hunter mindset, are necessary to surpass targets and be driven by bonuses. You will be persuasive in negotiations and diplomatic in your communications with customers to build long-term, productive relationships, all while enjoying the fast-paced environment of a multi-faceted Restaurant Entertainment Company.

Responsibilities

  • Perform outbound lead generating activities outside the Store including tabling, networking events, and go sees with prospective and current customers for a minimum of 6 hours per week over at least two workdays.
  • Develop and execute a local and outbound sales strategy targeting high-potential customer segments and industries.
  • Build and manage a high-performing sales team, providing mentorship, training, and support to achieve individual and team goals.
  • Serve as a product knowledge expert with a consultative approach to overcome prospective customers' objections.
  • Manage the full cycle of the sales process through prospecting, calls, and setting appointments.
  • Build and maintain a robust outbound and inbound sales pipeline to ensure consistent progress towards revenue targets.
  • Drive new revenue by closing new outbound business.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and market trends, adapting sales strategies as needed.
  • Track and report progress on daily, weekly, and monthly outbound prospecting and sales goals in the CRM.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key decision-makers at target companies, leveraging industry expertise to understand their needs.
  • Utilize sales data warehouse platform for regular communication with clients and tracking correspondence.
  • Join and/or hold board or committee positions within community or professional organizations.
  • Reinforce existing client base with regular office visits and on-property lunch appointments; host networking events annually to build brand awareness.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations for Events Consultants and oversee the creation of developmental action plans.
  • Partner closely with District Sales/Regional Sales Managers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related sales experience
  • Outgoing and personable with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel within the community at least two workdays per week
  • Ability to travel occasionally for tradeshows or conferences
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Excel, Word, Microsoft Office, and CRM applications
  • Flexible in approach and can adapt to client requests for changes
  • High personal standards of conduct and professionalism
  • Practical experience in a similar outbound sales position is advantageous
  • Well-developed presentation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both written and oral forms
