About the position

The Event Sales Manager will be responsible for driving the financial performance of a new luxury event venue in Miami. This role involves generating sales through outbound activities, managing client relationships, and promoting the venue for various events such as weddings and corporate galas. The ideal candidate will possess a strong entrepreneurial spirit and excel in both inbound and outbound sales activities, contributing to the brand's image and success.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts outbound sales activities to generate market excitement for the venue and book business.
  • Engages in cold calling, cold emailing, social selling, lead generation, and visits to local associations to cultivate referral relationships.
  • Promotes a service-driven culture through actions and leadership.
  • Generates, follows through, and closes inbound leads with enthusiasm and professionalism.
  • Communicates effectively with clients via phone, email, or text, maintaining a service-obsessed attitude.
  • Sells against competition with honest communication about strengths and weaknesses.
  • Recognizes and acts on opportunities to upsell services.
  • Follows up with clients after events to gather feedback and strengthen relationships.
  • Drives and transforms sales, marketing, and brand strategies into actionable plans.
  • Creates in-house and industry events to market and promote the venue.
  • Completes contracts with customers and vendors to ensure understanding and compliance.
  • Conducts site tours with prospective clients, vendors, and industry colleagues.
  • Creates and maintains SOPs for critical processes.
  • Participates in weekly meetings with ownership to provide updates on leads and bookings.
  • Leverages industry connections to drive events to the venue and promote the brand.
  • Manages software critical to sales and event bookings.
  • Facilitates guest deposits and payments.
  • Coordinates with preferred vendors to ensure an amazing customer experience.
  • Ensures all certificates of insurance are received and stored for third-party vendors.
  • Participates in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Handles special projects and emergency requests as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of proven experience in event sales, banquets, catering, hospitality, or related industries.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Creativity and a positive attitude towards guest experiences.
  • Strong presentation skills and tech-savviness.
  • Excellent stress and time management skills.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity.
