About the position

The Event Sales & Marketing Manager at The Maxwell Raleigh is responsible for driving sales and marketing efforts for a premier wedding and event venue. This role combines direct event sales with marketing strategies to create memorable experiences for clients, focusing on the wedding industry. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing client relationships while adapting to the dynamic needs of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound event and wedding inquiries, providing exceptional customer service and expert guidance through the sales process.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with potential and existing clients, fostering repeat business and referrals.
  • Conduct market research to understand client needs, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Conduct venue tours, consultations, and negotiations, tailoring packages to meet clients' specific needs and preferences.
  • Effectively communicate venue policies and requirements to clients and team members.
  • Assist with event day operations as needed during busier seasons.
  • Proactively engage in outbound sales efforts, including networking and lead generation, to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans to promote brand visibility and drive engagement.
  • Oversee digital marketing efforts, including website management, SEO, Google Ads, email campaigns, and social media strategy.
  • Create marketing content that aligns with the company's brand values and business goals.
  • Track and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns, adjusting strategies to optimize results.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align marketing efforts with business objectives.
  • Manage and grow the company's social media presence across relevant platforms.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of direct event sales experience, preferably within the wedding or hospitality industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of event, catering, or planning experience.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Experience with SEO, Google Ads, and social media platforms for business, especially Pinterest.
  • Experience with CRM tools and marketing automation platforms (Dubsado Preferred).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in catering for at least 1 year.
  • Ability to relocate to Raleigh, NC before starting work.
