About the position

The Event Security position at Citadel Security USA involves providing safety and security at various special events in the Denver Metro area and along the I-70 corridor in the Rocky Mountains. This part-time role offers flexible scheduling, allowing employees to choose their work hours while ensuring the safety of attendees and compliance with event regulations. The position emphasizes customer service, observation, and communication skills, as security personnel will interact with guests and manage potential hazards during events.

Responsibilities

  • Protect valuable assets for a business or vendor.
  • Maintain liquor boundaries at special events and uphold Colorado liquor laws.
  • Be mentally engaged in the event through observation and report all problems or potential hazards to the Special Event Security Supervisor.
  • Conduct routine perimeter patrols and confirm with the security team through frequent radio communication.
  • Understand the logistics of the special event, including rules and regulations, and participate in security briefings before the event.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and guests attending the event, including giving directions and information about the venue.
  • Work primarily outside in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and inclement weather.
  • Handle all company equipment properly, including radios and uniforms.
  • Perform additional tasks and special assignments as assigned by the reporting manager or client.

Requirements

  • Must be 18+ years old.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to perform job tasks in a professional manner in a customer service-driven industry.
  • Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to stand and walk for several hours per shift.
  • Constant awareness of surroundings.
  • Reliable transportation and proximity to site(s).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Exemplary customer service skills.
  • Positive attitude and energetic demeanor.
  • Punctuality and reliability.
  • Must own a smartphone for scheduling and clocking in/out.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in CPR, first aid, firefighting, and crowd control is preferred but not required.
  • Previous security, military, EMS, or law enforcement experience is preferred but not required.
