About the position

The Event Services Manager at Chenega Corporation plays a crucial role in coordinating and implementing logistical aspects for events held at the Chamblee Center at the CDC. This position involves managing a team of Event Services Coordinators, ensuring client needs are met with professionalism, and overseeing all event details from setup to breakdown. The manager is responsible for maintaining inventory, training staff, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Train and manage Event Services Coordinators.
  • Oversee all aspects of events, including setup and breakdown.
  • Handle logistical details for each event, including onsite caterers and guest assistance.
  • Ensure internal and external client needs are addressed efficiently and professionally.
  • Work directly onsite with clients to implement logistical components for meetings and events.
  • Provide room setup and logistical recommendations to enhance customer specifications.
  • Design and implement training programs for Event Services Coordinators.
  • Manage and maintain all conference services inventory.
  • Maintain linen inventory levels for uninterrupted supply.
  • Manage employee uniform program and ordering for new hires.
  • Assist caterers onsite and ensure compliance with CDC policies.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Confirm daily checklists are completed for conference setup staff.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance Programs for daily inspections.
  • Work closely with operating departments for a seamless guest experience.
  • Train as Building Evacuation Floor Coordinator for emergency procedures.
  • Assist in planning and implementing long-range goals and objectives.
  • Walk meeting rooms frequently to ensure proper setups.
  • Demonstrate team-building experience and lead by example.
  • Create a courteous and professional work environment.
  • Prioritize workload and delegate tasks appropriately.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum five years' experience in event services support and training.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to maintain superior building operations.
  • Ability to create an atmosphere of excellence.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
