About the position

The Event Services Manager plays a crucial role in coordinating and implementing logistical aspects for events held at the Chamblee Center at the CDC. This position involves managing a team of Event Services Coordinators, ensuring client satisfaction, and maintaining high standards of service and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Train and manage Event Services Coordinators.
  • Oversee all aspects of events, including set-up and breakdown.
  • Handle logistical details for each event, including onsite caterers and guest assistance.
  • Ensure that internal and external client needs are addressed efficiently and professionally.
  • Work directly onsite with clients to implement logistical components for meetings and events.
  • Provide room set-up and logistical recommendations to enhance customer specifications.
  • Design and implement training programs for Event Services Coordinators.
  • Manage and maintain all conference services inventory.
  • Maintain linen inventory par levels for uninterrupted supply.
  • Manage employee uniform program and coordinate with uniform company.
  • Assist caterers onsite and ensure compliance with CDC policies.
  • Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
  • Confirm completion of daily checklists for conference set-up staff.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance Programs for daily inspections.
  • Work closely with operating departments for a seamless guest experience.
  • Train as Building Evacuation Floor Coordinator and ensure knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Assist in planning and implementing long-range goals and objectives.
  • Walk meeting rooms frequently to ensure proper set-ups.
  • Demonstrate team-building experience and lead by example.
  • Create a courteous, friendly, professional work environment.
  • Prioritize workload and delegate tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in event services support and training.
  • Strong communication and listening skills.
  • Ability to maintain superior operational standards.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
