About the position

The Event Service Manager at Hotel del Coronado is responsible for overseeing the coordination of events between the hotel and clients, ensuring seamless execution of meetings and events. This role serves as the primary liaison, guiding various departments to fulfill their operational roles, maximizing revenue through effective upselling, and advocating for service excellence to enhance guest experiences.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all facets of the convention resume and banquet event order coordination between the hotel and the client.
• Act as a liaison between the customer and the hotel, directing each department regarding their specific roles during events.
• Maximize revenues through effective upselling of products and services.
• Serve as the primary contact for event planners during events on property, ensuring a positive experience.
• Directly serve on-site group and catering customers regarding logistics of group room blocks, food and beverage, and public meeting spaces.
• Provide direction and supervision to operating departments and team members during event execution.
• Participate in internal and external meetings as determined by the Director of Events.
• Assist in the physical movement of hotel or customer equipment or furnishings as necessary for events.
• Assist customers with the setup of their events as needed.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in event planning or hospitality management.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
• Proven ability to maximize revenue through upselling.
