The Event Services Manager at Marriott International plays a crucial role in overseeing the execution of events and ensuring high-quality service delivery. They also act as a liaison between various departments, including Banquets, Event Planning, and Event Delivery teams, to maintain high meeting room standards. Providing exceptional customer service is a key aspect of this role. The manager must be visible to customers at all times, available to solve problems, and set a positive example for guest relations. They are responsible for interacting with guests to obtain feedback and handle any complaints, empowering employees to deliver excellent service. Furthermore, the Event Services Manager conducts human resources activities, sets service goals for the team, and ensures that employees understand their expectations. They lead shifts, participate in servicing events, and communicate departmental emergency procedures to ensure staff are trained in safety protocols. Regular meetings with the Event Service staff are also part of the responsibilities to ensure effective communication and scheduling to meet business demands.
