The manager conducts inspections of function rooms prior to events to ensure they are set according to specifications and customer requirements. They also act as a liaison between various departments, including Banquets, Event Planning, and Event Delivery teams, to maintain high meeting room standards. Providing exceptional customer service is a key aspect of this role. The manager must be visible to customers at all times, available to solve problems, and set a positive example for guest relations. They are responsible for interacting with guests to obtain feedback and handle any complaints, empowering employees to deliver excellent service. Furthermore, the Event Services Manager conducts human resources activities, sets service goals for the team, and ensures that employees understand their expectations. They lead shifts, participate in servicing events, and communicate departmental emergency procedures to ensure staff are trained in safety protocols. Regular meetings with the Event Service staff are also part of the responsibilities to ensure effective communication and scheduling to meet business demands.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between Banquets, Event Planning, and Event Delivery teams throughout events.
  • Review the Diary weekly to ensure space maximization for events.
  • Ensure function rooms are set according to event documentation and customer requirements.
  • Make presence known to customers and stay available to solve problems.
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
  • Empower employees to provide excellent customer service.
  • Set service goals for event service supervisors and employees to achieve Event Planner satisfaction goals.
  • Conduct monthly department meetings with Event Service staff.
  • Schedule employees to ensure shift coverage and meet business demands.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 3 years of experience in event management, food and beverage, or a related professional area.
