About the position

The Event Services Manager at Fairmont Austin is responsible for creating memorable events and ensuring exceptional service for clients. This role involves organizing event details, optimizing function space, and maintaining client relationships to enhance guest experiences and drive financial performance.

Responsibilities

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service.
• Organize convention booking files and maintain accurate activities within files.
• Obtain and confirm all event-related information with clients.
• Organize and distribute group resumes, conference agendas, event orders, and floorplans to operating partners.
• Drive function space optimization to ensure best utilization for guest experience and financial performance.
• Yield sleeping room block and function space for financial optimization.
• Forecast banquet food & beverage with a target of 3% accuracy.
• Initiate and follow up on billing procedures, ensuring timely receipt of deposits and credit applications.
• Conduct pre-conference/event meetings with clients and departments to confirm details.
• Ensure guest/group experience through personal interaction during functions.
• Conduct site inspections as required and handle inquiries.
• Attend necessary meetings affecting the Events department.
• Establish and maintain rapport with clients to encourage repeat business.
• Play an active role in the local community and represent the hotel.

• Hospitality degree preferred.
• Able to work weekends and evenings.
