About the position

The Event Services Manager at Abigail Kirsch is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating catered events. This role involves managing client relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction, and overseeing event logistics to support the Senior Director of Sales. The manager will also handle event staff communication, payment collections, and troubleshooting during events.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate catered events.
  • Assist in the selection of menu items and schedule catering staff.
  • Arrange for facilities or equipment and communicate client needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Develop and maintain catering accounts and client relationships.
  • Ensure all event information in CaterXpert is up to date and detailed prior to events.
  • Review event floorplans, supervisor packets, and rental equipment for accuracy.
  • Communicate SCG procedures and expectations to event staff on-site.
  • Complete the day of supervisor packet for use on-site.
  • Assist in the setup and execution of events.
  • Maintain a calendar of events and attend necessary meetings and calls.
  • Communicate with sales, culinary, and booking staff to ensure understanding of menus and client needs.
  • Collect and submit all payments and deposits related to contracted events.
  • Review weekly AR report and correct discrepancies or collect late payments.
  • Troubleshoot and make quick decisions as needed during events.
  • Manage staff, holding them accountable and disciplining as necessary.
  • Follow up with photographers post-event to request photos.
  • Act as the first point of contact for general leads and gather detailed information.
  • Process event closeouts the day after each event.
  • Send out nightly event reminders to internal staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred)
  • 2 years of catering/food-beverage and/or administrative/event experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent staff management skills
  • Basic PC knowledge (Word & Excel)
  • Basic math knowledge (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, percentages)
  • Very organized
  • Able to work independently and make sound business decisions.
