As an Event Services Manager at Design Cuisine, you will play a pivotal role in planning, directing, and coordinating catered events. This position requires a motivated and experienced individual who can effectively manage various aspects of event execution. You will be responsible for assisting in the selection of menu items, scheduling catering staff, arranging for necessary facilities or equipment, and ensuring that customer/client needs are communicated to the appropriate personnel. Your efforts will directly support the goals of the Senior Director of Sales, and you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining catering accounts and client relationships by ensuring customer satisfaction before, during, and after each event. In this role, you will ensure that all event information in CaterXpert from the sales team is up to date and fully detailed prior to event deadlines. You will review event floorplans, day-of supervisor packets, pack lists, and rental equipment to ensure that all information is current and correctly distributed. Communication is key, as you will be responsible for conveying SCG procedures, standards, and expectations to all event staff on-site. You will also communicate all pertinent event information to the culinary and operations teams and complete the day-of supervisor packet for use on-site. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the setup and execution of events, ensuring that event rentals have scheduled deliveries and pickups that are convenient for specialists or venue managers, and maintaining a calendar of events through Outlook. You will attend all necessary event meetings and conference calls, communicate with sales, culinary, and booking staff as needed to ensure a clear understanding of menus and client needs, and manage the collection and submission of all payments and deposits related to contracted events. This includes ensuring that payments are made on time and reviewing the weekly AR report to correct any discrepancies or collect late payments. Additionally, you will be responsible for nimble troubleshooting and making quick judgment calls when necessary. Managing a staff, holding them accountable for their work, and disciplining as needed will also be part of your role. You will act as the first point of contact for general leads, gather detailed information, process event closeouts the day after each event, and send out nightly event reminders to internal staff.
