About the position

As an Event Staff member at Contemporary Services Corporation (CSC), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of various events across multiple venues in the D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia areas. This part-time position allows you to choose your own hours, providing flexibility to fit your schedule. Your responsibilities will include general support tasks such as ticket taking, ushering, guest services, and parking services. You will be expected to follow the directives of the Event Staff Supervisor and Event Manager, demonstrating good judgment and strong observation skills throughout each event. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic environment and are passionate about providing excellent service to guests at some of the most exciting events in the region. Responsibilities

  • Provide general support for events including ticket taking, ushering, guest services, and parking services.
  • Follow all operating procedures and policies as outlined by the company.
  • Adhere to directives from the Event Staff Supervisor and/or Event Manager for each assigned event.
  • Serve as a greeter for each event, welcoming guests and providing assistance as needed.
  • Utilize effective interpersonal skills to interact with guests and the public.
  • Assist guests in determining their seat locations and escort them to their seats if required.
  • Maintain familiarity with the information and facilities at each venue where assigned.
  • Coordinate with facility staff as appropriate to ensure smooth operations during events.
  • Communicate effectively with event staff and supervisors to report any issues or concerns.
  • Observe and report matters of concern to the Field Supervisor and complete incident report forms as necessary.
  • Notify police, fire department, or emergency medical services of problems if requested or warranted.

Requirements

  • Valid Guard Card license is preferred.
  • Effective interpersonal skills to deal with guests and the public.
  • Ability to follow directives from supervisors and management.
  • Strong observation skills and vigilance during events.
  • Basic math skills for ticket counts and inventory reporting.
  • Ability to professionally assist guests with seating and event information.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in management or supervisory roles is a plus.
