About the position

The Event Staffing Manager at Jack Stack Barbecue and Storia Fine Catering is responsible for overseeing the recruitment, training, scheduling, and placement of hourly operations teams for various catering services. This role focuses on building a positive culture that fosters growth and development for team members while ensuring operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement an operational strategic plan for staffing that supports the overall vision for the catering business.
  • Make data-driven decisions to grow staffing to build operational capacity and meet revenue goals.
  • Create, implement, and execute a recruiting and referral program to ensure staffing needs are met.
  • Track and update weekly progress towards quarterly goals.
  • Support an internal architecture that provides clarity and opportunity for growth among the hourly team.
  • Collaborate with the Operational Leadership Team to drive operational efficiencies through people placement and development.
  • Identify and implement a recruiting strategy to fill staffing needs.
  • Manage an internal system for scheduling and people placement.
  • Hold accountability for the training and development of team members.
  • Maintain current staffing levels and scheduling needs through weekly schedules and management of service team individuals.
  • Communicate professionally, respectfully, and consistently with all staff and peers.
  • Build and maintain positive, impactful, and professional relationships with all staff and peers.
  • Accountable for guest satisfaction and overall experience.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of front and/or back of the house management experience in a high volume, full service food environment preferred but not required.
  • Possess ServSafe certification or have the ability to certify during MIT training.
  • Cannot be convicted of a felony or DUI/DWI.
  • Minimally proficient at bartending and kitchen operations.
  • Ability to multi-task and think quickly on your feet.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
  • Possess basic accounting and computer skills.
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • Familiarity with food, beverage, and labor cost controls.
  • Ability to be seen as a positive role model and strong leader.
  • Ability to self-motivate and take initiative.
  • Good communication skills to deal with customers and staff.
  • Ability to ascertain staff training needs and provide such training.
  • Ability to direct performance of all staff and follow up with corrections where needed.
  • Ability to motivate all staff and maintain a cohesive team.
  • Ability to enforce company's standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments; delegate work.
  • Ability to think clearly, analyze, and resolve problems exercising good judgment.
  • Ability to maintain a neat and clean appearance and convey self-confidence.
