About the position
The Event Technical Specialist is responsible for the technical setup and operation of mid-level production events in a hospitality environment, ensuring client satisfaction through effective communication and collaboration. This role involves operating advanced audiovisual equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and supervising event staff, while also fostering the development of technical skills in team members.
Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of advanced audiovisual equipment.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve problems quickly as they arise.
- Comply with all company security and safety measures.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive relationships with clients.
- Collaborate with internal teams on event solutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Create an atmosphere that fosters the development of technical and leadership skills in other employees.
- Supervise and direct other technicians during events.
- Assist with the security, storage, inventory, transportation, and maintenance of equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- 3+ years of event technology experience with a specialty in Audio, Lighting, Projection, or Video required.
- 3-4 years of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
- Technical certifications in A/P/V/L required, with experience signed off by DPM or higher.
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse workforce and senior management.
- Strong customer, client, and coworker interface experience.
- Valid driver's license required for positions operating company vehicles.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
