About the position

The Event Technician and Operator position at Villanova University involves implementing, repairing, troubleshooting, and operating technical aspects of the John and Joan Mullen Center for the Performing Arts. This role supports various production functions including staging, audio, theatrical lighting, video, and safety for performance spaces and related areas. The technician will collaborate with university departments and student organizations to achieve educational and recreational objectives, while also managing events and performances as needed.

Responsibilities

• Implement, repair, troubleshoot, and operate technical aspects of the Mullen Center for the Performing Arts.
• Coordinate with various university departments and student organizations to support events.
• Stage manage or assist in stage management for performances and events.
• Provide periodic updates to Technical Coordinators on progress and operational details.
• Work flexible hours including days, nights, and weekends as required.

Requirements

• Event experience related to staging, audio, stage lighting, video, rigging, and safety.
• Excellent communication skills within an academic environment.
• Ability to instruct and supervise diverse audiences.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to build productive relationships.
