The Event Technology Marketing Manager at Avnet is responsible for the comprehensive planning and execution of event logistics for a variety of internal, customer, and partner-facing events. These events include conferences, trade shows, corporate functions, leadership meetings, and corporate-sponsored community events, among others. The role encompasses managing all aspects of assigned events, from the initial pre-event planning discussions through to the evaluation of post-event results. The ideal candidate will have a robust knowledge of Cvent event management software, which is crucial for designing, building, and customizing event management sites, including registration and sponsorship sites. Additionally, the manager will develop surveys, provide detailed reporting, set up on-site registration systems, and create mobile apps to enhance the event experience. In this role, the Event Technology Marketing Manager will work closely with both internal and external customers to identify and understand the goals and requirements of each event. This includes creating individual event project plans, identifying key deliverables and milestones, and driving the execution of the event to meet those milestones. The manager will also be responsible for negotiating event contracts, which include amenities, hotel accommodations, and any special needs for the event, ensuring that all legal approvals are obtained. On-site management of assigned events is a critical component of this role, as is providing direction to extended internal and external teams involved in the event. Budget management is another key responsibility, requiring the manager to ensure that event budgets are clearly identified, communicate any scope creep, and close out budgets in a timely manner. The position requires a thorough knowledge of principles, theories, and concepts in the area of event management, and the ability to develop solutions for a variety of situations. The manager will work independently, exercising judgment and discretion, while also collaborating with management and team members across the organization.
