About the position

The Box Office Coordinator at The Salt Shed plays a crucial role in supporting the Box Office Manager by executing various ticketing and administrative responsibilities. This position involves leading the open box office hours and providing guidance to staff during events. The coordinator will manage the weekly open box office hours, including special pop-up sales events, facilitating ticket sales and upgrades for patrons, and assisting in organizing artist VIP, guest, and press lists. Additionally, the coordinator will handle ticket purchases and distributions for sponsors and artist teams, oversee the venue inbox, and respond to guest inquiries via phone or email. Providing exceptional customer service is a key aspect of this role, as the coordinator will address guest questions, assist with lost items, directions, and event information. Maintaining an orderly and efficient box office environment is essential, along with supporting the setup and management of Salt Shed events and upsells on ticketing platforms. The coordinator will lead box office staff on event days as needed, organize and distribute event credentials for artists and guests, and actively monitor ticket inventory. Furthermore, the coordinator will respond to guest inquiries with outstanding customer service, maintain office supplies, organize lost and found items at the venue, process requests for employee tickets, and assist the Box Office Manager and General Manager with general office tasks. This position requires a commitment of 30+ hours per week, with a compensation range of $20-22 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the weekly open box office hours, including special pop-up sales events.
  • Facilitate ticket sales and upgrades for patrons.
  • Assist in organizing artist VIP, guest, and press lists.
  • Handle ticket purchases and distributions for sponsors and artist teams.
  • Oversee the venue inbox and respond to guest inquiries via phone or email.
  • Address guest questions and assist with lost items, directions, and event information.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to resolve guest issues.
  • Maintain an orderly and efficient box office environment.
  • Support the setup and management of Salt Shed events and upsells on ticketing platforms.
  • Lead box office staff on event days as needed.
  • Organize and distribute event credentials for artists and guests.
  • Monitor ticket inventory actively.
  • Respond to guest inquiries with outstanding customer service and maintain office supplies.
  • Organize lost and found items at the venue.
  • Process requests for employee tickets.
  • Assist the Box Office Manager and General Manager with general office tasks.
  • Undertake additional administrative projects as assigned by the Box Office Manager.

Requirements

  • Availability to work 30+ hours per week, including regular office hours and event shifts.
  • Prior experience in a customer-facing or ticketing position is essential.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems, particularly Ticketmaster, is highly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Appreciation for diverse cultures, music, and art forms.
  • Supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Experience managing ancillary products, such as upsells and premium offerings, is beneficial.
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to thrive under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with staff, guests, and VIPs, ensuring excellent service across all business operations.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a dynamic indoor and outdoor environment.
