About the position

The Events Manager II at Marriott International is responsible for preparing event documentation and coordinating with sales, property departments, and customers to ensure high-level service throughout all phases of property events. This role primarily handles less complex events and works closely with supervisors to ensure seamless transitions from sales to service and back. The position also focuses on maximizing revenue through upselling and enhancements to create outstanding events.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales and property departments.
  • Ensure consistent, high-level service throughout pre-event, event, and post-event phases.
  • Act as a liaison between field sales and customers during the event process.
  • Verify billing accuracy and conduct bill reviews with clients before processing final bills.
  • Encourage associates to provide excellent customer service and set a positive example for guest relations.
  • Coordinate and communicate event details to customers and property operations under supervision.
  • Follow up with customers post-event and handle guest problems and complaints.
  • Assist with the sales process and upsell products and services throughout the event process.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; 2 years' experience in event management or related area, or a 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with no work experience required.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in hospitality or event management is preferred.
