About the position

They are responsible for billing accuracy and conducting bill reviews with clients prior to processing the final bill. Additionally, the Events Manager manages group room blocks and meeting spaces for average to large-sized assigned groups, identifying operational challenges and determining the best solutions in collaboration with property staff and customers. Exceptional customer service is a core responsibility of the Events Manager. They deliver excellent service throughout the customer experience, empowering employees to do the same and setting a positive example for guest relations. The manager coordinates and communicates event details both verbally and in writing, ensuring that they are present and available to address any issues that arise during the event. They follow up with customers post-event to gather feedback and improve future service. The Events Manager also leads event management teams, conducting formal pre- and post-event meetings to review group needs and feedback. They assist in the sales process and revenue forecasting for customer groups, up-selling products and services throughout the event process. The role requires a proactive approach to human resources activities, including reviewing guest satisfaction results and providing feedback to employees to enhance service performance. Overall, the Events Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that events are executed flawlessly and that customer satisfaction is prioritized throughout the process.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with sales, property departments, and customers.

  • Act as a liaison between field salesperson and customer throughout the event process.
  • Participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary.
  • Solicit feedback from property departments to identify areas for improvement.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and encourage the same from other employees.
  • Coordinate and communicate event details both verbally and in writing to customers and property operations.
  • Follow up with customers post-event and handle guest problems and complaints.
  • Conduct formal pre- and post-event meetings to review group needs and feedback.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; 1-2 years of experience in event management or related professional area, or a 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with at least 1 year of experience in event management.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to deliver excellent service throughout the customer experience.
  • Experience in managing event logistics and operations effectively.
  • Ability to identify operational challenges and develop solutions.
