About the position

The Event Manager at The Lighthouse is responsible for producing engaging member events and executing strategic brand experiences. This role involves managing event logistics, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and fostering a collaborative environment for creators. The Event Manager will report to the General Manager and support the Director of Events, playing a key role in enhancing the event experience for members.

Responsibilities

  • Produce engaging member events and execute strategic brand experiences.
  • Manage the events calendar focusing on a rolling 45-day period.
  • Monitor food and beverage, event supplies, and studio purchases to ensure budget compliance.
  • Direct the set-up and breakdown process for each event as outlined in BEO packets.
  • Assist with ongoing event planning and hospitality training for employees and third-party staff.
  • Ensure compliance with California labor laws during events.
  • Take ownership of BEO meetings and staff presentations.
  • Communicate regularly with members to gather feedback and address concerns.
  • Lead and inspire teams during floor shifts and campus inspections.
  • Act as the sole point of contact during open, closing, or swing shifts.
  • Write event schedules for maintenance and movers team and third-party staff.
  • Confirm load in/out approvals for events.
  • Address technical needs of events in a timely manner.
  • Provide tours and demonstrations of The Lighthouse to potential members.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in event management, production, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of creating BEOs and organizational aspects of event production.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience leading a small team across various functions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Technical proficiency in Asana, Peoplevine, and AV.
