About the position

The Events Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of events at the W Los Angeles - West Beverly Hills. This role involves coordinating with various departments and clients to ensure a seamless experience throughout the event lifecycle, from pre-event preparations to post-event follow-ups. The Events Manager also identifies opportunities to enhance events and maximize revenue through upselling and service improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with Sales, property departments, and customers to ensure high-level service throughout all event phases.
  • Manage event logistics and operations to ensure seamless progress and adherence to established procedures.
  • Greet customers during the event phase and hand off to the Event Operations team for execution.
  • Ensure billing accuracy and conduct bill reviews with clients prior to processing the final bill.
  • Manage group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups.
  • Identify operational challenges and develop solutions in collaboration with property staff and customers.
  • Act as a liaison between field salespersons and customers throughout the event process.
  • Participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary.
  • Solicit feedback from property departments to enhance the Event Planner's experience.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and empower employees to do the same.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; 1-2 years of experience in event management or a related field, or a 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major with at least 1 year of experience in event management.
