About the position

The Events Manager at Adtalem Global Education is responsible for developing, planning, and executing engagement events for the health vertical of the organization. This role involves collaboration with various functional areas to enhance event strategy and ensure effective execution of events such as recruitment events, commencement ceremonies, and conferences. The position requires a strong interest in event marketing and technology, as well as excellent communication skills to amplify Adtalem's brand awareness and customer engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and organizes group travel and events in North America and globally; develops event budgets; schedules and services contracts to ensure cost-effective achievement of event objectives.
  • Manages the institution's master events budget; monitors travel policy compliance and effectiveness.
  • Establishes a virtual event environment to be engaging and interactive, managing the build, use, and training of the platform.
  • Oversees events measurement, including the design and operation of relevant dashboards and reports to forecast, measure, analyze, and report on the impact of events.
  • Researches and evaluates vendors and facilities; negotiates contracts; manages communications and relationships with external partners; coordinates billing and payment for services rendered.
  • Leads stakeholder meetings; manages roles and responsibilities and program deadlines.
  • Works closely with vertical and institutions functional areas including admissions, marketing, alumni, communications, operations, and academic teams to achieve strategic goals through event marketing.
  • Continually reviews, analyzes, and reports on data that impacts events to enable better decisions on content and promotion.
  • Contributes to, implements, and optimizes customer and user event marketing plans to include email promotions and communications, paid media, and web content.
  • Manages internal communications and enablement that promotes registration to and growth of events.
  • Travels internationally and works occasional nights and weekends to support events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, communications or relevant field of study.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience in event strategy, planning, and realization, including direct experience with vendor negotiations and relationship-building.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and highly cross-functional organization.
  • Proven experience and success in planning and executing in-person events.
  • Demonstrated success in executing event registration and proven knowledge of industry tools like Certain, Marching Order, Salesforce, TEAMS, Chatbots, etc.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with an outstanding attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of venue and vendor contracts and negotiations.
  • Proven experience managing audio visual and production vendors.
  • Ability to manage time and handle multiple priorities to achieve high-quality deliverables.
  • Skilled negotiator with proven experience finding creative ways to do more with less; record of staying on budget.
  • Willingness to mentor, lead, and problem-solve across teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally and the ability to work without direct supervision.
