About the position

The Events & Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating events and marketing initiatives for the UND College of Engineering and Mines. This role involves supporting all aspects of event planning, producing digital and print materials, managing social media platforms, and facilitating departmental communications in collaboration with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a variety of graphic design projects, including digital bulletin boards, electronic media, posters, flyers, event programs, and recruitment pieces.
  • Ensure all marketing materials adhere to the UND and College of Engineering and Mines' branding guidelines.
  • Edit and produce copy for college publications as needed.
  • Manage event teams by coordinating with vendors and campus partners to develop and follow event timelines and contracts.
  • Develop detailed project plans for events, including timelines, budgets, resources, and risk management strategies.
  • Oversee and manage budgets and registrations, and initiate attendee contact as required.
  • Evaluate events and gather feedback to improve future events.
  • Provide direct assistance and front-line support for UND Engineering events before, during, and after the event.
  • Maintain the college's social media presence across multiple platforms and develop relevant content and campaigns.
  • Interact with prospective students, alumni, and other stakeholders via the college's social media accounts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, event management, graphic design, or related field, or Associate's degree and 3 years of related experience, or 5 years of related experience.
  • Experience working in communications, events, marketing, advertising, and/or public relations.
  • Experience planning and executing events.
  • Demonstrated experience with professional use of social media platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter).
  • Demonstrated experience with graphic design.
  • Proficient in utilizing the Adobe Creative Suite software, including InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check.

  • Experience in developing social media strategies.
  • Experience with Qualtrics, WordPress, and/or OmniUpdate.
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Experience with photography and photo editing.
  • Experience with UND Brand Standards and Best Practices.
