About the position

The Events Marketing Manager at TechCrunch is responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing initiatives to enhance awareness and drive revenue for TechCrunch events. This role is pivotal in collaborating with various teams to create compelling marketing strategies that increase event attendance and engagement, particularly for flagship events like TechCrunch Disrupt. The position requires a data-driven approach to measure success and iterate on marketing efforts, ensuring a strong connection with the startup and technology community.

Responsibilities

  • Develop integrated marketing initiatives to build awareness and drive revenue for TechCrunch events.
  • Execute marketing strategies to grow event attendance, iterating based on performance.
  • Collaborate with editorial, design, and audience development teams to create compelling pitches for potential attendees.
  • Analyze campaign performance and recommend actions to improve awareness and ticket sales.
  • Build and execute plans to reach new audiences for TechCrunch's StrictlyVC franchise.
  • Develop content and funnels to promote TechCrunch events and drive attendance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of marketing experience primarily in B2C marketing for event products or similar consumer products.
  • Experience within or working with technology companies and startups is a plus.
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, Business, or relevant job experience.
  • General knowledge of marketing approaches to drive customer behaviors across email, social, and display media channels.
  • Proven track record of driving event attendance growth through data-driven, ROI positive campaigns.
  • Strong attention to detail for managing multiple marketing channels for various events.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with executing campaigns on CRM systems like Hubspot.
  • Strong writing skills to craft promotional copy and retool existing coverage.
  • Ability to provide feedback and steer the creation of creative assets.
