About The Position
This Events Project Manager contract position at Microsoft involves supporting the Startups team with both first and third-party events. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in event management and planning, particularly in the context of go-to-market strategies. The team is focused on recruiting new startups into the Microsoft for Startups program and engaging existing startups through various events and engagements. By participating in select events, the team aims to reach promising startups and enhance Microsoft's market share in the startup ecosystem through increased brand awareness. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Microsoft internal stakeholders and event vendors to manage and execute a variety of events, including virtual events, executive dinners, and thought leadership roundtables. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of the startup ecosystem and have a proven track record in managing both first and third-party events, as well as virtual events. While the position is primarily remote, it requires some domestic travel. The Startup Event Manager will be responsible for providing end-to-end support for a predetermined list of events, which can vary significantly in size, from intimate gatherings of 10 to large-scale events with over 100,000 participants. Key responsibilities include establishing a rhythm of business (ROB) and maintaining strong communication across all stakeholders during the event planning process. You will create and send event communications, including event page creation, email communications, and invitation templates. Additionally, you will coordinate speaker and content logistics, support booth and swag design, and manage exclusive partner events such as dinners, happy hours, roundtables, and receptions. Tracking event ROI and providing comprehensive reporting will also be essential components of this role.
