About the position

In this position, you'll be based in the Chicago, Bolingbrook, or Florida office for a minimum of three days a week, with the flexibility to work from home for some of your working week. The Events Marketing Manager role operates within the employee share plans marketing team, providing support to the business in delivering an exceptional event experience for clients and stakeholders. While predominantly focusing on events in the North America regions, the employee share plans team is global, requiring occasional support for other regions. The individual will need to demonstrate experience working with external agencies and internal stakeholders across multiple regions. The Events Marketing Manager will be responsible for executing global, local, and internal events aligned with marketing and business objectives. This includes planning, development, and execution of virtual and physical events targeted at clients and prospects in all regions. Types of events include webinars, virtual and face-to-face client events, roundtables, industry events, and workshops. The role also involves managing suppliers from an operational and budget perspective, measuring event performance, optimizing events, and ensuring a return on investment. Key responsibilities include supporting Marketing Business Partners in delivering compelling events that drive engagement, leads, pipeline, and revenue. The Events Manager will project manage events from pre-planning through wrap-up, ensuring on-time execution while managing competing priorities. The role requires developing innovative event activities that drive engagement, advising on best practices, and continuously improving the end-to-end customer journey. The Events Manager will also be responsible for creating feedback mechanisms to gather actionable insights from event delegates and measuring event performance against predefined objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Marketing Business Partners in each region to deliver compelling events that drive engagement, leads, pipeline, and revenue.
  • Work with colleagues within the Delivery team to promote and deliver effective events within agreed budgets and timescales.
  • Project manage events end to end from pre-planning through wrap-up, ensuring on-time execution and managing competing priorities.
  • Develop and deliver innovative event activities that drive engagement and continuously evolve event initiatives.
  • Advise Marketing Business Partners and Business Units on best practices and make recommendations to improve event outcomes based on recorded performance.
  • Own the digital event management system, registration platform, and event communications, continuously improving the customer journey.
  • Be the subject matter expert on virtual meeting and webinar platforms, ensuring effective webinars.
  • Create feedback mechanisms, including surveys, to gather actionable feedback from event delegates.
  • Measure event performance, audience generation, and return on investment.
  • Manage relationships and activities with external vendors and event partners, ensuring cost-effective sourcing of branded merchandise and equipment.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments for all organized or attended events.
  • Improve systems and processes to support the ongoing success of the global team.
  • Make decisions and be accountable for day-to-day event management issues.

Requirements

  • Significant experience managing a variety of events from in-person to virtual, ideally supported by a relevant qualification.
  • Knowledge of local market requirements and regulations relating to events.
  • Experience in both B2B and B2C marketing environments, with a focus on financial services or highly regulated industries.
  • Extensive experience managing events in the North America market.
  • Ability to provide clear verbal and written communications regarding event activities and updates.
  • Strong negotiation and influence skills to overcome obstacles and execute plans.
  • Analytical skills to interpret customer and market data and analyze event return on investment.

Nice-to-haves
