About the position

Avaya is seeking a passionate Events Marketing Manager who will play a crucial role in planning, executing, and managing events that align with the company's marketing and business strategy. This position requires strategic thinking, attention to detail, and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in event management, vendor coordination, and virtual event execution. The Events Marketing Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of event management, including project management, site selection, hotel and vendor negotiations, travel arrangements, and event production. This role will also involve managing auxiliary event functions such as booth locations, sponsorships, hospitality events, and post-event reporting. In addition to in-person events, the Events Marketing Manager will plan and execute virtual events with live, semi-live, and pre-recorded content, staying updated on the latest platforms and technologies. The candidate will educate speakers on event logistics and manage speaker content, ensuring a seamless experience for all participants. The role requires the development and communication of comprehensive event plans that cover sponsorships, speaking, exhibiting, lead generation, and brand awareness. Furthermore, the Events Marketing Manager will execute marketing activities to promote events, including communication campaigns and content production, while managing event budgets to ensure all events are within financial guidelines. Tracking and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs) for each event, including pre and post-event analysis, will also be a critical part of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Strategically plan, manage, and execute events to align with marketing goals, corporate branding, and sales efforts.
  • Oversee all aspects of event management, including project management, site selection, hotel and vendor negotiations, travel arrangements, and event production.
  • Collaborate with external vendors for tradeshow and event production, ensuring performance, budget adherence, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage auxiliary event functions such as booth locations, sponsorships, hospitality events, and post-event reporting.
  • Plan and execute virtual events with live, semi-live, and pre-recorded content, staying updated on platforms and technologies.
  • Educate speakers on event logistics and manage speaker content.
  • Develop and communicate comprehensive event plans covering sponsorships, speaking, exhibiting, lead generation, and brand awareness.
  • Execute marketing activities to promote events, including communication campaigns and content production.
  • Manage event budgets, ensuring all events are within financial guidelines.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in planning high-visibility events for both virtual and in-person settings, including tradeshows, conferences, and product launches.
  • 3+ years of experience in tradeshow exhibit coordination, including booth design, vendor management, and digital content assets.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with SFDC, Adobe Suite, Zoom Events, and Monday.com is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities, with a customer service focus.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, confidential environment.
  • Creative thinker with innovative solutions.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel overnight (approximately 30%).
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
