Under general direction, the Events Project Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing project efforts associated with the City of San Antonio's Aviation Department Arts and Culture Program. This role involves managing the design, development, and implementation of various projects, which includes gathering and defining project requirements, obtaining staffing needs, and forming project teams. The position requires the development of methods, procedures, and quality objectives, including metrics for assessing progress, while utilizing established project standards and procedures. The Events Project Manager will also plan, implement, and manage the SAT Live Program, oversee the operation of rotating gallery spaces throughout the Aviation Department, and ensure the care, maintenance, and disposition of the Aviation Department's art collection. The role demands the development of detailed project plans and schedules, providing work direction and leadership to assigned projects, including scheduling, assignment of work, and review of project efforts. The manager will monitor project milestones and critical dates to identify potential risks to the project schedule, resolving any issues that arise and keeping management informed of changes. Additionally, the Events Project Manager will conduct formal quality assurance reviews with business sponsors during and upon project completion to confirm acceptance and satisfaction, while providing constructive feedback to the team regarding project performance. This position may exercise functional supervision over assigned staff and involves interviewing, selecting, supervising, developing, and counseling personnel according to established City of San Antonio policies and procedures. The Events Project Manager is expected to develop and maintain productive working relationships with project sponsors, team members, and vendors, while performing related duties and fulfilling responsibilities as required.
