About the position

The Sales Manager for Events at Grandlife Hotels is a pivotal role responsible for driving the sales of weddings and private events within both social and corporate markets, with a strong emphasis on the social segment. This position is integral to the growth of the Social business, which involves actively soliciting new business opportunities, engaging with Event Planners, entertaining clients, and nurturing existing relationships for the Soho Grand and The Roxy Hotels. The Sales Manager will oversee the entire event cycle, from prospecting to execution, ensuring that all client needs are met and exceeded throughout the detailing process. This includes conducting site visits, finalizing menus and floor plans, and generating Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) that accurately reflect the event's timeline, setup, production, and audiovisual requirements. In this fast-paced, detail-oriented environment, the Sales Manager will work closely with the Director of Catering & Events to manage the catering budget and forecasts for the year. Timely responses to catering inquiries are crucial, as is the creation and customization of event proposals tailored to client needs. The role requires strategic planning to identify new prospects, maintain a comprehensive database, and develop a sales plan that aligns with market segments and seasonal trends. Additionally, the Sales Manager will contribute to the annual Sales and Event Marketing Plan and assist in competitive analysis by gathering client feedback on menu presentation and service quality. The position is sales and incentive-driven, requiring a proactive approach to increase revenue through effective selling strategies. Building and cultivating client relationships is essential, as is confirming event details such as menu selections, timelines, and guest counts. The Sales Manager will also be responsible for upselling food and beverage items, negotiating in-house audiovisual services, and ensuring all payments are settled prior to the event. Participation in weekly BEO meetings with the Food & Beverage and Events Team is necessary to review upcoming events, address logistical challenges, and anticipate potential issues. The role demands strong communication skills to collaborate with the operational Events Manager, ensuring seamless event execution and client satisfaction. The Sales Manager will greet clients at the event's start, conduct final walkthroughs, and oversee the catering team, resolving any staffing or client issues that may arise during the event.
