About the position
The Events/Sponsorship Coordinator internship at REX Baseball offers a unique opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in event management and sponsorship activations within a collegiate summer baseball team. This role involves leading event operations on game days, coordinating with sponsors, and managing various events throughout the summer of 2025. The internship is designed for individuals seeking to advance their careers in the sports industry, providing valuable insights and practical experience in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of events and operations, establishing strategic vision for the department on game day.
- Work closely with the Assistant GM on all initiatives related to the events/sponsorship department.
- Assist in pre-game set-up and post-game teardown of corporate outing events on game days.
- Establish community relationships and talent pipelines with participating or new sponsors.
- Coordinate event day operations, ensuring needs are fulfilled and the stadium is event-day ready.
- Participate in meetings to facilitate duties and support other departments.
- Contribute to fan interaction and brainstorm ideas for events.
- Assist with guest relations on game days regarding the specified department.
Requirements
- Must be able to receive college credit for the internship or have recently graduated from an accredited institution.
- Ability to work all 2025 home games, REX Academy (youth camp), REX Golf Outing, and other assigned dates.
- Willingness to work on non-game days to complete necessary tasks for upcoming games.
- Flexibility to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work effectively with little to no supervision.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in response to challenges.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to act as a team ambassador.
- Strong personal and digital organizational skills.
