About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Eviction and Docketing Assistant to support our legal team in handling eviction cases. The ideal candidate will have a strong organizational background and familiarity with legal administrative processes. This position is crucial in ensuring that all eviction cases are managed efficiently and in compliance with legal standards. The Eviction and Docketing Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include reviewing accounts, e-filing documents, and maintaining communication with court clerks and clients. The role requires a proactive approach to managing case files and ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed accurately and on time. In this role, you will follow set procedures and steps to review accounts and e-file approved documents on various court portals. You will also be responsible for following up on e-filed documents online, downloading filed documents, and docketing relevant information. Effective communication is key, as you will need to communicate with court clerks for status updates via phone and email, as well as with clients regarding new and ongoing cases. Once certain criteria have been met, you will also be tasked with closing accounts in our system. Additionally, miscellaneous clerical duties such as answering correspondence and drafting letters will be part of your responsibilities. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented team environment while ensuring compliance with all company, client, state, and federal regulations. A strong proficiency with computer equipment and systems, particularly MS Office, is essential for success in this position. Candidates may be required to undergo a background check and drug screening as part of the hiring process.

Requirements

  • Prior law firm experience
  • Minimum: High school diploma
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented team environment while ensuring compliance with all company, client, state, and federal regulations
  • Demonstrate proficiency with computer equipment and systems including MS Office
  • Candidates may be required to undergo a background check and drug screening
