About the position

The Earned Value Management System Analyst will provide expertise in Earned Value Management (EVM) and Project Controls best practices. This role focuses on promoting effective business decisions in planning, scheduling, budgeting, financial analysis, and risk management to meet client requirements. The analyst will ensure compliance with accounting principles and industry standards while monitoring project performance and business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, coordination, tracking, and execution of projects with minimal supervision.
  • Provide Project Controls oversight of Capital and O&M projects, adhering to EVM principles.
  • Serve as the P6 system administrator, handling security audits, user access, code field maintenance, and Organizational Breakdown Structure (OBS) maintenance.
  • Process month-end project reporting using EVM system tools.
  • Manage approved baseline changes through the EVM system.
  • Upload budget, labor offsets, and contingency update files into the financial system.
  • Perform monthly contingency reconciliation using Power BI.
  • Conduct quarterly Long-Range Plan (LRP) reconciliation to ensure alignment between the LRP, P6, and the financial system.
  • Coordinate project planning for the next fiscal year between Project Controls and Business Planning.
  • Review initial baseline schedules during the annual budget cycle to ensure adherence to Project Controls standards.
  • Load the next fiscal year budget and associate files into the financial system during the annual budget cycle.
  • Assist Project Controls supervision in monthly analysis and identify trends in project performance.
  • Identify and propose changes and improvements to Project Controls reporting.
  • Conduct benchmarking studies for business-related issues.
  • Maintain and update Project Controls Power BI reports and data sets.
  • Interface with Information Services and Planning, Scheduling, and Outage departments for all planned P6 upgrades.
  • Perform special assignments, exhibiting leadership qualities and demonstrating proficiency through experience and education.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) methodology and practices.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 Professional and its administration (code maintenance, application security, etc.).
  • Ability to develop quality work products with limited oversight and validate expectations effectively.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, capable of handling professional interactions with department managers to senior leaders.
  • Ability to work as a team member or leader.
  • Ability to establish goals, set priorities, and maintain awareness of interrelationships among activities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in financial analysis and budget management.
  • Familiarity with Power BI for reporting and data analysis.
