About the position

The EVP, Data Engineering at Bank OZK is responsible for creating, maintaining, and operating enterprise data products that enhance insights to grow deposits and lending while minimizing operational risk. This senior leadership role focuses on delivering both short and long-term improvements by leading and coaching a team, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Execute and enhance the enterprise data strategy to align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable data infrastructure and architecture.
• Define, monitor, and hold teams accountable for key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality and efficiency.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of all lines of business and relevant operational processes to align data initiatives with business goals.
• Support and enable Bank data governance frameworks to ensure compliance with regulations and data privacy standards.
• Implement sustainable data management practices to reduce operational risk and comply with financial industry regulations.
• Research and analyze large, complex data sets to identify trends and insights for decision making.
• Work cross-functionally to design and implement data products and processes that provide analytics and insights.
• Support and enhance change management processes for continuous adoption and improvement of data products.
• Build a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning across the technology organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related field within financial services.
• 5+ years of experience in a senior leadership role within data development or software engineering.
• 5+ years of demonstrated technical leadership experience in data architecture and design patterns.
• 5+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Snowflake and data processing tools.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
