About the position

The Head of Global Publicity at Sony Pictures Entertainment is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and executing innovative publicity campaigns for the studio's films across theatrical and home entertainment windows globally. This position requires a strategic and creative professional with extensive experience in the film industry, who will work closely with top executives and manage award season strategies to enhance the visibility of Sony Pictures' titles and talent.

Responsibilities

  • Strategically design and implement innovative publicity campaigns for Sony Pictures' films globally.
  • Represent the Global Publicity department in senior executive meetings, providing strategic insights and updates.
  • Work with international teams to support culturally adapted publicity efforts while maintaining a consistent global brand message.
  • Lead the development and execution of award season strategies for major industry awards.
  • Serve as a key publicity figurehead, communicating campaign strategies and achievements to executives and partners.
  • Lead and empower a team of publicity professionals, fostering creativity and collaboration.
  • Coordinate with filmmakers and talent to craft compelling narratives that enhance film visibility.
  • Manage press events, premieres, and media engagements to ensure seamless messaging transitions.
  • Analyze the competitive landscape to adapt publicity strategies for both theatrical and home markets.
  • Collaborate with marketing, distribution, and home entertainment teams for unified film promotion.

Requirements

  • 20+ years of experience in film publicity leadership with a strong portfolio of successful campaigns.
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities with experience managing a large, diverse team.
  • Strategic and creative thinking skills for delivering innovative publicity campaigns.
  • Superior communication skills for conveying complex strategies clearly and persuasively.
  • In-depth knowledge of the film industry and audience engagement strategies.
  • Established network of media contacts and relationships with industry influencers.
  • Demonstrated collaborative spirit with a proven ability to work across departments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field; an advanced degree is advantageous.
