About the position

The EVS Tech I - Housekeeping position is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and orderly environment within the hospital facilities. This role is crucial for ensuring a safe and welcoming atmosphere for patients, visitors, and staff, particularly during the night shift hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning of all patient-use areas, restrooms, and offices.
• Engage in project cleaning as needed.
• Execute tasks such as scrubbing, mopping, and polishing using appropriate chemical mixtures.
• Interact professionally and courteously with patients and hospital personnel.
• Uphold Jacksonville Memorial Hospital's behavioral standards.
• Collaborate effectively with team members.
• Communicate clearly with co-workers and management.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Be flexible with work schedules and assignments.
• Adhere to regular attendance and punctuality policies.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience in institutional and/or commercial housekeeping is preferred.
• Familiarity with waxing and stripping floors is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical functions is required.
• Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
