About the position

The Environmental Services Engineer is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in assigned facilities. This role involves performing both light and heavy cleaning duties, ensuring that the facilities meet tribal cleanliness standards, and assisting with inventory management of cleaning supplies. The position also requires effective communication and collaboration with the Environmental Services Supervisor and other staff members.

Responsibilities

• Service, clean, and replenish supplies in restrooms.
• Clean and maintain building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming.
• Gather and empty trash from tribal offices, buildings, and outside areas near entry/exit doors.
• Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using appropriate cleaning supplies.
• Assist in maintaining inventory of supplies and equipment necessary to perform daily tasks and notify supervisor to replenish supply inventory.
• Knowledgeable and aware of the locations of hazardous material (HazCom), Bloodborne Pathogens and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Notify supervisor concerning the need for structural repairs or operational issues to mechanical systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED, or obtain GED within one year.
• One year of Environmental service or housekeeping experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
