About the position
GWP is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join their pipe crew in Ocala, FL. The role involves operating excavators for deep excavations related to pipeline installation, ensuring safety and efficiency in the process. The operator will work closely with the ground crew and must have a solid understanding of trench safety and equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Excavate for pipe laying in deep excavations.
- Handle trench box safely and effectively.
- Place pipe and structures into the ditch with men present.
- Follow hand signals from the pipelayer during operations.
- Maintain knowledge of equipment maintenance and safety procedures.
- Assist the ground crew when necessary.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience in pipeline excavation.
- 5 years of experience operating a trackhoe.
- Knowledge of storm, water, and sewer operations.
- Understanding of trench safety requirements.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and workplace safety procedures.
- Willingness to relocate to Ocala, FL before starting work.
