About the position

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) position at Iredell-Statesville Schools involves working under the supervision of the Executive Director of Exceptional Children to support students, teachers, and parents. The role focuses on enhancing students' educational experiences through positive self-esteem and resilience, utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for assessment and intervention in a school setting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct behavioral assessments and develop intervention plans.
  • Teach and model ABA-based interventions for staff.
  • Provide general clinical guidance and create proactive strategies.
  • Write reports on student progress and program effectiveness.
  • Deliver direct intervention services to clients as needed.
  • Train staff and evaluate students' progress and program effectiveness.
  • Serve on the District Autism Team and Discovery School Leadership Team.
  • Assist in the identification and placement of students.

Requirements

  • BCBA Certification is required.
  • LPA certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with individuals with autism and/or related developmental disabilities and mental health disorders.
  • Experience with severely challenging behaviors and designing and implementing related assessment and intervention strategies.
  • Knowledge of differentiated instruction.
  • Excellent management and clinical skills.
  • Mastery of ABA principles, theory, methods, and evidence-based practices.
  • Knowledge of effective practice, clinical decision-making, outcomes-based intervention, and areas specific to developmental disorders.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
