Responsibilities

• Conduct first level examinations and accounting functions for unclaimed property.
• Identify, report, collect, and distribute unclaimed property accurately.
• Reconcile unclaimed property reports and process penalty waivers.
• Review refund and extension requests, apply payments, and set up accounts.
• Balance electronic reports/files using unclaimed property computer systems.
• Provide direct customer service for the Unclaimed Property Section, primarily answering calls in the Holder Queue.
• Process holder requests including penalty waiver and refund requests.
• Open and set up new holder accounts while maintaining existing accounts.
• Assist with the Safe Deposit Box inventory process.

Requirements

• Two years or more of experience in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, banking, compliance, or tax administration.
• OR an associate's degree and one year of experience in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, banking, compliance, or tax administration.
• OR a bachelor's degree involving major study in business or public administration or closely allied field.
• Preference may be granted to applicants with 12 semester (or 18 quarter) hours of college-level accounting credits.
