About the position

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join their team in Aurora, Colorado. This role is pivotal in ensuring the optimal performance of state-of-the-art CNC machines, both on-site and remotely. The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for providing expert support for the maintenance, repair, and installation of CNC machine tools. This includes developing and updating technical documentation to support ongoing machine maintenance and upgrades, as well as assisting in product development by training and guiding customers' Service Engineers on the latest product lines. Establishing strong communication and customer service relationships is essential, with the support of a dedicated in-house technical team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with advanced technology in a dynamic environment, contributing to the success of the company and its clients.

Responsibilities

  • Providing expert on-site and remote support for the maintenance, repair, and installation of CNC machine tools.
  • Developing and updating technical documentation to support ongoing machine maintenance and upgrades.
  • Assisting in product development by training and guiding customers' Service Engineers on the latest product lines.
  • Establishing strong communication and customer service relationships, with the support of a dedicated in-house technical team.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with 5-axis CNC machines is required.
  • Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints.
  • Familiarity with 24-volt systems and the ability to troubleshoot and identify issues related to them.
  • Competence in G-code programming, spindle changes, PLC troubleshooting, and headstock alignments and leveling.
  • Solid understanding of math and geometry, critical for precision alignment and machine calibration.
  • Experience in operating or maintaining CNC systems and robotics, with knowledge of Fanuc, Mitsubishi, Haas, Siemens, or Heidenhain controls as a significant plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in a technical field, relevant trade school certification, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC ladder diagrams.
  • Practical experience with CNC machine troubleshooting and maintenance, including spindles and leveling.
