About the position

Join a dynamic leader in diverse commercial construction with an exciting Project Manager opportunity in Tallahassee, Florida. This role is with one of the most respected General Contractors in the area, known for its award-winning projects and strong financial foundation. As a Project Manager, you will be at the forefront of executing diverse commercial construction projects, ensuring that each project is completed to the highest standards while maintaining a customer-focused approach. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering open communication and clear directives among the project team, which will ultimately drive the success of the projects you oversee. In this position, you will collaborate closely with the Estimating team during the Preconstruction phase, ensuring that all aspects of the project are well-planned and executed. You will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting construction plans and specifications, which will require a deep understanding of building systems and construction methods. Mentoring junior Project Management staff will also be a key part of your role, as you will guide them to ensure strong project oversight and successful outcomes. Building lasting relationships with Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Subcontractors will be essential for uncovering future project opportunities. You will oversee procurement processes for subcontractors and vendors, ensuring compliance and efficiency throughout. Additionally, you will tackle drawing interpretation challenges and conflicts strategically, manage project documentation including submittals, RFIs, and change order proposals, and ensure timely owner billings and accurate cost projections. Monitoring project schedules and providing regular progress updates will also be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that projects stay on track and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Estimating during the Preconstruction phase.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience managing diverse commercial construction projects.
  • Deep understanding of building systems and construction methods.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage the entire project lifecycle.
  • Proven sales experience in the construction industry, with a knack for identifying and securing new project opportunities.
