About the position

Join a dynamic leader in diverse commercial construction with an exciting Project Manager opportunity in Lamont, Florida. This role is with one of Tallahassee's most respected General Contractors, known for its award-winning projects and strong financial foundation. As a Project Manager, you will be at the forefront of executing diverse commercial construction projects, ensuring that each project is completed to the highest standards. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering a customer-focused approach, promoting open communication, and providing clear directives throughout the project lifecycle. In this position, you will collaborate closely with the Estimating team during the Preconstruction phase, ensuring that all aspects of the project are well-planned and executed. You will analyze and interpret construction plans and specifications effectively, tackling any challenges that arise with strategic solutions. Mentoring junior Project Management staff will be a key part of your role, as you guide them to ensure strong oversight and successful project delivery. Building lasting relationships with Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Subcontractors will be essential for uncovering future project opportunities. You will oversee procurement processes for subcontractors and vendors, ensuring compliance and efficiency in all operations. Additionally, you will manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and change order proposals, while ensuring timely owner billings and accurate cost projections. Monitoring project schedules and providing regular progress updates will also be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that projects stay on track and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Estimating during the Preconstruction phase.
  • Analyze and interpret Construction Plans and Specifications effectively.
  • Mentor junior Project Management staff to ensure strong project oversight.
  • Build lasting relationships with Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Subcontractors to uncover future project opportunities.
  • Oversee procurement processes for Subcontractors and Vendors, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Tackle drawing interpretation challenges and conflicts strategically.
  • Manage project documentation, including Submittals, RFIs, Change Order Proposals, and more.
  • Ensure timely Owner Billings and accurate cost projections.
  • Monitor Project Schedules and provide regular progress updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience managing diverse commercial construction projects.
  • Deep understanding of building systems and construction methods.
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage the entire project lifecycle.
  • Proven sales experience in the construction industry, with a knack for identifying and securing new project opportunities.
