About the position

The Ohio State University invites applications for the position of Executive Administrative Assistant on the Marion campus. This role provides essential administrative support to the dean, associate dean, and assistant dean for the Office of the Dean. As the primary point of contact for the office, the Executive Administrative Assistant will communicate effectively with both external and internal constituencies through various channels including phone, email, and in-person interactions. This position is pivotal in ensuring smooth operations within the office and requires a proactive approach to managing tasks and responsibilities. In addition to general administrative duties, the Executive Administrative Assistant will serve as the Secretary for the Marion campus Advisory Board. This includes responsibilities such as recording meeting minutes, coordinating schedules, and ensuring that all board activities are well-organized. Event coordination is another key responsibility of this role, where the Executive Administrative Assistant will plan and execute events for the Office of the Dean, as well as assist the Office of Advancement staff with campus-related events and activities. Other administrative responsibilities encompass senior leader calendar management, room scheduling, university credit card management, and providing assistance with faculty searches and faculty review coordination, which includes managing 4th and 6th year reviews and promotion dossiers. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and a commitment to fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the dean, associate dean, and assistant dean for the Office of the Dean.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the office, communicating with external and internal constituencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
