About the position

The Executive Assistant will provide a wide range of administrative support for an Executive level position (Deans and Executive 1 or 2 level positions or higher). This role is crucial in maximizing the effectiveness of interdepartmental operational processes and communications. The Executive Assistant will serve as a liaison with various executive offices and other external stakeholders, advising the Executive on policy, procedural, and operational issues of the unit. Responsibilities include facilitating communication, planning events, drafting and editing various documents, scheduling meetings, and managing the executive's calendar. Additionally, the Executive Assistant will manage special projects that involve independent research and collaborate with all levels of internal management and staff. Engaging in budgeting and controlling costs in partnership with Directors of Financial Affairs is also a key aspect of this role. The College of Science is Purdue's second largest unit by enrollment, number of faculty, and research expenditures. It has been expanding across all its seven academic departments and its 30 majors. Science is central to most of the signature strategic focus areas of campus leadership, and the College is expanding its operational footprint to the Indianapolis location. Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for executive-level positions including Deans and Executive 1 or 2 level positions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in a high-level administrative support role or equivalent.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web conferencing tools.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
