About the position

The Denver Police Department is seeking an Executive Assistant to support the Investigative Support Division, which includes various bureaus focused on public safety. This role involves providing administrative support to the command staff and the Executive Director of Safety, ensuring efficient operations within the division. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Answering phone calls daily and providing information to customers and departments.
  • Screening telephone calls, transferring calls, taking messages, and ensuring timely return of calls.
  • Completing multiple work assignments on time and learning new skills to enhance work performance.
  • Developing short documents to summarize non-technical information and preparing correspondence in response to inquiries.
  • Communicating with representatives of various city agencies, community/business groups, and the public regarding significant issues.
  • Organizing, monitoring, preparing, tracking, updating, and compiling complex internal and external documents and data.
  • Maintaining calendars, arranging and coordinating appointments, meetings, and conferences.
  • Briefing the Commander on subject matter for upcoming meetings or events when appropriate.
  • Creating and preparing spreadsheets to assist with documentation and recommending policies or practices.
  • Maintaining office inventory and coordinating the weekly purchase of supply requests.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or possession of a GED, HiSET, or TASC Certificate.
  • Three years of clerical or office support work experience, including two years of specialized/technical experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills and written and oral communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience crafting PowerPoint presentations for Executive Staff.
  • Extremely high level of integrity.
